DRT Entertainment is a privately held, New York-based independent record label founded in 2004 by accomplished music industry executives Derek Shulman, Ron Urban and Ted Green. With an emphasis on Rock, DRT and its growing staff of young and seasoned music industry professionals provide an environment for artists to achieve commercial success while remaining true to their artistic goals. The label’s targeted sales and marketing strategy allows them to devote attention and resources to their both their developing and established artists in strategies that are flexible, creatively structured and immediately profitable. DRT’s artist roster includes Clutch (who in 2005 achieved the highest Billboard Top 200 debut of the group’s 10-year career), Powerman 5000, Blindside, Soil, Street Dogs, American Head Charge and Gwar, as well as developing acts Aphasia, Scotch Greens, Lynam and Artimus Pyledriver.

Now it becomes more clear. The Rasmus are signed with Playground Music in Finland. Playground Music is owned by Universal Music. Universal Music was “the label” here in the US but they didn’t ever do anything with The Rasmus.

Here’s to hoping that DRT is willing to do something to get The Rasmus better known here in the US.
